Estimates, not official counts
The numbers on How Many Of Me are estimates. We combine official birth and census records with survival-rate modelling to approximate how many living people share a given name. These figures are intended for general interest, education, and research. They are not official population counts and should not be treated as exact. For countries where we lack a primary source, values are modelled from prevalence in reference countries and are flagged accordingly.
No affiliation with statistical agencies
How Many Of Me is an independent project. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the U.S. Social Security Administration, the U.S. Census Bureau, the U.K. Office for National Statistics, Statistics Canada, any state births registry, the New Zealand Department of Internal Affairs, Wikidata, or any other organisation whose data we cite. All source names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.
No professional advice
Nothing on this site constitutes legal, demographic, medical, or other professional advice. Do not rely on our figures for any decision that requires verified, official data; consult the primary source directly in those cases.
Accuracy and availability
We work to keep the site accurate and available, but we make no guarantee that it is free of errors or that it will be uninterrupted. Data is updated periodically as new source releases become available, so a figure you see today may change as records are revised.
